SIX FLAGS READ TO SUCCEED Wells Middle School is again participating in an exciting program that encourages children in grades K through 6 to read for fun. Read to Succeed is a free program from Six Flags® and Discovery Education. 6th grade students need to complete six hours of recreational reading and submit the Student Reading Log by February 20, 2013. They will each receive a free admission ticket valid at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. For more information read the Six Flags Family Letter.
DUBLIN LIBRARY NEWS
The Dublin Public Library is a branch of the Alameda County Library. It has many programs and fun special events. Upcoming programs include Page 1(a monthly kid's book group),the Fall Used Book Sale, a Teen Advisory Group meeting, Homework Help, Family Story Night, and Round Robin Sing-A-Long. HALLOWEEN MATH IN THE LIBRARY
October was a fun month for the library. Students guessed the weight of three pumpkins in ounces and grams. The total weight of 35.54 lbs. equaled 568.64 oz. and converted to 16120.673 g. Moushmi Gazula had the closest guess at 569.8 oz. Zeshawn Durani was close at 560 oz. and Sean Last had the most accurate conversions of 544 oz.= 15422.128 g. These students won the pumpkins, Beanie Ghosts and Kitten, and of course candies! Staff members Patrice Shumway and Leor Levin won Starbuck's gift cards and candies too!
