When the district received word that Dublin High School was listed among the nation’s top performing high schools, according to U.S. News and World Report’s high school rankings, we were delighted, but not surprised because we know that our teachers, administrators and students achieve remarkable academic results. Join us as we celebrate Spring at Dougherty Elementary’s Spring Fling Carnival on Friday, May 18 from 5:30-8:30pm. The Carnival will have games and activities for all ages, food for all tastes and lots of fun entertainment for the entire family.
The Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees recently voted unanimously to give the voters of the District another option. They voted to place the Dublin Quality Education and Safe Classrooms Measure on the June, 5 2012 ballot. The measure will generate $99 million to make necessary safety and technology upgrades so all students have access to a safe and modern learning environment.

The North Coast Section Honor Coach Award is a tribute to outstanding coaching accomplishments and contributions to the school. The selection is voted by a Sports Advisory Committee composed of NCS representatives, past and present coaches and athletic directors from 165 schools. There is just one Honor Coach selected per year for this award, and Coach Wainwright is it! This is a very special honor and we congratulate him for this honor.
Shannon Irwin, Senior, has been named the DFAL MVP for girls basketball. This is the first basketball MVP award given to one of our athletes while participating in the DFAL league (about 12 years) for boys or girls.
Dr. Hanke and district office staff received a visit on Valentines Day from students in the Dublin High School Transition Program, which serves young adults ages 18-22 with special needs.
Seven Dublin High athletes will begin their futures as collegiate student athletes in the fall. Five of them signed their Letters of Intent to College at a ceremony at Dublin High School's Sports Complex on Wednesday morning.

The Alameda County Board of Education denied the appeal for the Tassajara Prep Charter School Petition. The likely next step is an appeal to the State Board of Education. We will keep you informed on the updates regarding this situation.
