Counseling Services

    The American School Counselor Association "ASCA" has developed the following standards to help students focus on academic, personal/social, and career development so they achieve success in school and are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society. At Fallon Middle school, the following services have been established to meet these standards.
    Academic Development

    CJSF Peer Tutoring/Mentoring


    • 8th grade CJSF students sign up to mentor 6th grade students (Coordinated through our CJSF advisor and a counselor)


    Academic Group/Individual Counseling Sessions Offered This Year (2019/2020)


    • 6 to 8 Week sessions - Organization, time management, study skills


    5th Grade Presentations - Visits to the Elementary Schools


    • May 2020
    • A Middle School Counselor will meet with the 5th grade teachers and all 5th grade students to discuss transitioning from Elementary School into Middle School and answer any questions the students have about scheduling, programs, and activities offered at Fallon. 

    Dublin High School Counselors Visiting Fallon/8th Grade Students

    • Spring 2020
    • DHS counselors will meet with all 8th grade students in their classrooms and individually
    • Offer access to the 2020-2021 DHS student handbook, elective forms, scheduling information, and answer questions
    Social/Emotional Development

    • Peer (8th grade) mentoring for new students

    Parent Education Events

    • Presenters range from outside professionals, including the Hume Center, Fallon Middle School counselors, and representatives from the Dublin Unified School District
    • Focuses on child development and social/emotional topics related to middle school student and their needs
    • PowerPoint presentation "What is Normal" is offered under parent education events


    • Future Freshman Night @ Dublin High for all parents who have a child entering high school in 2020-2021
