Welcome to Mrs. Freschi's Website!!Name: Michelle FreschiGrade Level: Fourth Grade
Extension:6854Mrs. Freschi in Fourth GradeI am very excited to continue my professional journey working another year for Dublin Unified School District. Throughout my career I have taught every grade from K-6 with the exception of fifth grade. Upon graduating with a B.A. in English and a M.Ed from UCLA I began my career as a bilingual teacher in Southern California. Moving to the Bay Area brought new challenges as I served as a reading intervention teacher and taught in two Spanish dual immersion schools. During a three year move to Massachusetts I received an additional teaching credential to teach English Language Learners. What I have valued most from all these varied experiences is working with diverse student populations, so Dublin is the perfect place to be.My teaching philosophy is to make learning rigorous, meaningful and interesting, and to make the curriculum accessible for all students. My goal is to guide students to reach their academic potential and to become conscientious, responsible citizens. I also believe that I can achieve rigor and relevance through building relationships with your children. I am patient and I maintain a good work ethic and high standards for myself and my students. Our fourth grade team is working very hard to collaborate together and align our curriculum to the new Common Core Standards. Change can be tricky, but I am confident that each year will get easier for everyone.Communication and teamwork are essential components for a successful school year. I encourage students and families to contact me should any questions or concerns arise. Email is the easiest way to contact me. Scheduling an appointment after school also works well for me but I can accommodate appointments before school with advance notice.Outside of school hours I enjoy spending time with my husband and four children, working out, reading, and going to or performing in the theater. With much pleasure do I wait to meet you all and to make this upcoming year at Kolb a very memorable one!
