• Education Protection Account
The voters approved Proposition 30 on November 6, 2012 which added Article XIII, Section 36 to the California Constitution effective November 7, 2012.  The provisions of Article XIII, Section 36 created in the state General Fund an Education Protection Account (EPA) to receive and disburse the revenues derived from the incremental increases in taxes imposed.  School districts were authorized to determine how the money received from the EPA was spent.  EPA funds cannot be used for salaries or benefits of administrators or any other administrative costs.  In addition, school district must publish on its website an annual accounting of how much money was received from EPA and how the funds were expended.  Finally, there is a requirement for annual financial audit to include verification that the EPA funds were used as specified in Proposition 30.
A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of Dublin Unified School District authorizing possible use of the Education Protection Account was approved on June 11, 2020.
