    10/31/19 - deadline for Youth @ Work - Talking Safety.  The University of California at Berkeley and Los Angeles, along with the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation, are once again sponsoring a 3-day all-expense-paid Young Worker Leadership Academy (YWLA) scheduled for February 6-8, 2020 at UC Berkeley. This is a unique opportunity for youth to become leaders and advocates for teen labor rights, and health and safety.  Apply on line today HERE

    Upcoming Local Volunteer Opportunities

    East Bay Internship applications are now being accepted for the Fall 2019 Session for Congressman Eric Swalwell's office.  Interns may be asked to do a variety of things, including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, writing letters and attending District events.     Tri-Valley Minor Hockey Association is looking to fill their Board of Directors position of Director of Communications.  They are reaching out to any interested DHS students.  For details - Director of Communications TriValley Minor Hockey Association   

    10/25/19 - Fri, Volunteers needed for Kolb PFC's Annual Trunk or Treat.  This is a fun event where parents decorate their cars and pass out candy to costumed children in the school’s parking lot.    Student volunteers are asked to arrive to Kolb by 5:30.  The event is from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.  A follow up email will be sent to volunteers with further information.  Duties include: help set up decorations; help with the line; direct where food donations go and; passout candy to parent volunteers.  If interested, please sign-up HERE or HERE
