Technology in the Classroom
J.M. Amador Elementary School promotes 21st century learning by implementing technology in new ways. The school will host mobile computer labs. Each mobile lab equips classrooms with 30 sets of chrome books to assist students in research, writing, and collaboration.
Classrooms also are equipped with interactive Smartboards, document cameras, projectors or television screens to enhance student engagement with images, videos, and interactive visuals. Students learn to use electronic research tools such as the internet, online library catalog, and subscription based multimedia sites to gather and analyze information. Internet safety and ethical issues are addressed in primary grades. Students use word processing, presentation, and spread sheet software to share their knowledge of content.
