Greetings!
My name is Jay Maddox and I am a music teacher teaching strings at Wells Middle School and 4th and 5th grade Band and Strings at Amador Elementary and Cottonwood Creek School. I am excited to let you know about some music making opportunities, and how you can get your child on the path to making music: a path that will raise their performance in the classroom, increase their chances of going to college, and give them the skills they need to thrive for a lifetime. Please read my Band Handbook (link above) which details all aspects of my programs and how you can get involved!Let's change the world with music!J. Mr. Maddox
Jay Maddox’s love of music began in the 6th grade where he began studying trumpet in Lake Tahoe, CA with award winning music educator Dean Nordby. After moving to the East Bay area Jay attended Liberty High School learning French horn and the trombone, and later Los Medanos College under the guidance of veteran music educator (and California PTA Educator of the Year) John Maltester. While at LMC Jay was awarded the Jim M. Miller Memorial Music Scholarship and was selected as an outstanding soloist for the Music Department’s annual Concerto Competition.
