Jason Matlon


    Wells Middle School is excited to welcome Jason Matlon as its new Assistant Principal beginning with the 2015-16 school year.

    Jason Matlon has a 12-year career in public education.  Most recently, Jason served as the Safe & Inclusive Schools Coordinator K-8 for the Albany Unified School District. While in this post, he also taught 6th and 7th grade Social Studies.

    Prior to his time in Albany, Jason Matlon taught 4th, 5th, and 8th grade Language Arts in Santa Barbara, San Anselmo, and East Palo Alto.  In addition to his Administrative credential, he holds a multiple subject, English single subject, and Social Sciences single subject credential. 

    Jason Matlon earned his Masters in Education at the Gevirtz School of Education at UCSB, and earned his Bachelors of Sciences in International Affairs at Georgetown University.  

    He is married and enjoys reading, film, outdoor recreation, and travel. 

    Jason Matlon brings experience from a range of grades, subjects and locations to Wells Middle School.
