Hello Kolb Families,
Welcome back to the 2020-21 school year. I look forward to starting off our new school year in the new learning format of Distance Learning. We have a lot of amazing learning opportunities planned for all of you through our online classes, PFC events and school wide events. We know that this is a different way to start the year, and we do miss seeing all of you in person. The important thing is to stay healthy so that one day we will be back together in person at our beloved school.
It’s always important to look at the positive outcomes, even in the face of challenges. One of the positive things I see about Sheltering in Place, is that a lot of families are now taking walks or bike rides together. It’s great to see everyone getting a little fresh air and connecting with our family members. Sometimes when things are “normal”, we are all so busy with our schedules, rushing from place to place, that we don’t always take the time to talk with our own family. I too, have spent more time playing board games and going on walks with my kids than ever before.
I know that there will always be some difficulties as well, and we want you to know that we are here to support you. We want you to learn a lot, not only academically, but also connecting with friends, teachers and others, in ways that are respectful and genuine. After all, being successful in life often depends on our ability to communicate well, build relationships, and have respect for one another.
This year, my goal is to figure out how I can be kind and supportive, even from a distance. I hope that I will get the chance to talk to each one of you throughout the year to see how you are doing.
Take care, stay healthy and let’s have a fantastic year together as Kolb Eagles!
