Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Dave Luehrs
Hello Fallon Families!
During this school year, I am teaching Earth, Life, and Physical Science to our 6th-graders during periods 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. We use our parent portal for grading updates, Remind.com for text messaging services, Twitter for extracurricular science content, and Google Classroom for all assignments, announcements, workflow and student resources. To ensure cyber-security at the very highest level, I prefer to use these technology tools within the Dublin USD domain to keep all communication behind our district's firewall. (These applications are not open for public viewing, with the exception of Twitter, and they are only visible to students enrolled in our classes here at FMS.)
Ask your student to log-on to their Google Classroom account (from their DUSD e-mail address) and you may visit our classroom (digitally!) anytime. I would encourage you to monitor student progress, assignments and lab activities using this amazing teacher/student/parent-friendly tool. I look forward to working with all of our Fallon Families this year as we continue to implement the Next Generation Science Standards district-wide! It's an amazing time for young people that are interested in science education.
One other important reminder: on Google Classroom, you will find a digital, interactive syllabus that is updated in real-time for all of our student scientists this year. It is packed with useful hyperlinks and all the details that parents and guardians are looking for. Take some time with your student and interact with this document-- it's a powerful way to see into the school day as experienced by your child.
Thanks for your support at home-- it's the partnerships in education that really make a profound difference with positive learning outcomes!
Your partner in science education,
