Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Dee Michetti
Thank you for visiting my class site. I am Resource Teacher here at Fallon Middle School. Before coming to Fallon, I worked at the fabulous Wells Middle School site. I am originally from Southern California and have been living in Dublin for the past nine years. While I miss the San Diego beaches, I have embraced the beautiful Bay Area. I enjoy sports, dance, hiking, camping, and traveling; however, my family is my pride and heart.
Before becoming a teacher I spent 10 years volunteering in the public school system setting helping both teachers and students create and achieve academic goals. I started as a new parent who was interested in their child’s education and wanted to help in the classroom given the limited resources and the climbing teacher to student ratios. In the classroom, I took an affinity to the elementary school age group. I realized that no matter what the environment was at home, so much of an impact could be made at school and these first years were so important to help mold the minds of each student and foster a love for learning. I continued volunteering at the elementary level helping in centers and small groups. In 2016, I volunteered in reading intervention for kindergarten students and it inspired me to want to help struggling students who needed and deserved more resources. While in that role, I realized my passion and knew my love for working with children would be a huge benefit to the success becoming a teacher.
For the past four years, I have been employed with the Dublin Unified School District as a 1:2 Instructional Aide and Resource Teacher. Working in the resource department has solidified my pursuit of becoming and Education Specialist and an advocate for equitable education across the board for all students. During this time, I have partnered in the GenEd class as well as in resource, teaching whole class instruction, small group and 1:1 instruction. I have also supported the Extended School Year session in SDC Mild/Mod TK-1st grade as an Instructional Aide. Working in both the SDC and GenEd classes has given me such a wide perspective of supporting the needs of all students. I received my Master's Degree in Special Education in May, 2020 and I proud to be an advocate for students with disabilities and a voice for equity and social justice in education.
I am thankful to be a part of such a wonderful community and to be working with the amazing students and staff here at Fallon.
