The Amador Valley Union High School District established Valley High School as an alternative high school for students that did not do well at Amador Valley High School. Started as a “continuation” high school in 1967, it had several locations. The first location was “a house near the parking lot of Amador Valley High School” until 1974. The second location was on Dublin Blvd. near what is now Dublin Civic Center. The school moved again in 1987 to Building E on the Dublin High School site. In 1988, Valley High moved into the former J. R. Cronin School facilities at 6901 York Drive.
