Dear John Green Elementary Family Members,
I am so very honored and excited to become a member of the John Green Elementary School community of learners for the 2020-21 school year! For the past 27 years I have had the distinct pleasure of serving students and their families as an educator in the communities of Rodeo, Antioch, and Dublin. My teaching career was spent in kindergarten through fourth grade classrooms and, as an administrator, I have guided elementary and middle school communities. Over the past five years, I have developed relationships with the Kolb Elementary community and have strived to create a pleasurable (happy) place for our members to learn, laugh, and take risks together on a daily basis. Each one of the schools in which I have been a member of have allowed me to not only educate children, but to support my colleagues and parents of the children whom I serve. Not a day passes in which I don’t additionally grow alongside each member of our learning family.
Over the course of the next year, I will spend countless hours developing relationships with the Green community so that I may best support our children’s social, emotional, and academic development. Through a collaborative process, I will strive to enrich the lives of our children and the children’s teachers (educators and parents). Together we need to interact as a team, creating a foundation where our children’s young minds and hearts will grow and develop in a caring, supportive environment.
I will continually strive to be a person that demonstrates my belief in others and one who will inspire all members of our community to believe in themselves so that as a collective we continually learn and grow.
I look forward to meeting all of you soon!
Joyce L. Trotter
