I am Garry Grotke (Mr. "G" if you prefer), and I am very honored to have been chosen to be the Principal of John Green Elementary School. Although I am new to the Dublin Unified School District and to Green Elementary, I have been in public education for more than thirty years and I have served in administrative leadership for more than twenty of those years. I am not new to being a Principal or to supporting students, staff and families of a high performing California Distinguished School. I was born, raised, educated and worked in the Bay Area my entire career. I graduated as a Gator from San Francisco State University and I love being a gator once again. During my career, I have supported success through many educational initiatives and I understand how important a home and school partnership is to student success. I have been a speaker on school safety, student success and the importance of the arts in education. I am excited to learn from such a talented staff and community.
School safety is always the top concern for every staff, and Green Elementary is no exception. With over 800 students we need to all cooperate and work collaboratively from the beginning of each day until students are back home in your care. My goal is to help each day start calmly and with as little stress as possible. This means supporting safe and careful access to school. Please follow all traffic safety and drop off procedures. We also want to remind all visitors to check in the office every time prior to entering the school campus. This will ensure our campus is as safe as possible.
There are changes every year and this year the front office and I ask for your patience as we learn how to best support our school. Our only goal is to create the best school possible for all gators. Please join me the first day in the multi-use room for a meet and greet starting at 8:15.
I look forward to meeting the students and it is an honor to support such a great school.
Garry Grotke, Your Principal
