    Info about Ms. Hake:

This is my sixth year teaching at Dublin High School and I am very excited to be here. I am teaching two classes of U.S. History and three classes of AP U.S. history. I am also the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) adviser and Habitat for Humantiy adviser. Before teaching at Dublin High School, I taught World History at Alisal High School in Salinas for three years.

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. My father is from Walnut Creek, CA and my mother is from Nagasaki, Japan. I attended the American School in Japan from K-12 and grew up speaking English as my first language. I also speak some Japanese, but it is getting rusty after having lived in California for over a decade!

After high school, I moved to the U.S. and began to attend UC Santa Barbara. There, I double majored in history and sociology. I completed my Masters in Education and received my Social Sciences Teaching Credential at UC Santa Cruz. While attending graduate school, I student taught U.S. History and World History for one semester at Soquel High School near Santa Cruz.

I currently live in Alameda with my husband, which is about a half hour commute from Dublin. I love that it is so close to the city but that it still has a relaxed, neighborhood vibe to it. In my free time, I love to go for bike rides and jogs by the bay with my dog, travel, try new restaurants, catch up with good friends, work on stained glass projects, play the ukelele, and exercise.

My first five years teaching at DHS were wonderful - Dublin High is an amazing place to work at, and I am looking forward to another great school year!
