Lunar New Year Event

On February 2, 2019, the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs (APAPA) Tri-Valley Chapter hosted its 2019 Lunar New Year Celebration at the Dublin High School Center for Performing Arts and Education. The event promotes cultural diversity through quality entertainment and featured 14 multicultural performances including a classical piano solo, Italian tango, Indian/Korean/Chinese dances, Japanese calligraphy, Shaolin Kung Fu, stand up comedy, and choir performances. A total of 136 performers participated in the show, many from Dublin schools. Fallon students Aria Zhou, Athena Contos, and Kacie Hu served as emcees for the event, while also participating in the APAPA's Youth Event Planning Committee. The event was attended by many local officials, including Mayor Haubert, Councilman Arun Goel, Councilman Shawn Kumagai, San Ramon Mayor Bill Clarkson, Catharine Baker, Dublin Superintendent Leslie Boozer, Pleasanton Superintendent David Haglund, and Pleasanton PTA President Maritess Simmons.

All proceeds from this sold-out event were donated to the Dublin Senior Services.
