Smitha Sunil Receives 2019 Teresa Herrington Memorial Award
The Dublin Unified School District established the Teresa Herrington Memorial Award following the sudden death in October of 2005 of Teresa Herrington, a much-loved school secretary, and Association leader. The award is given each year to a classified employee who best exemplifies the character traits and qualities that Teresa exhibited throughout her 25 years of service with the District. Smitha Sunil is that person, she is a Special Education Instructional Assistant at Wells Middle School. Smitha’s is professional, respectful, approachable, helpful, and friendly. Her dedication to her classroom and students is unwavering. Heather Smith, Teacher in the classroom states “the kids know that she cares about them and wants them to be successful; they respond well to her." Smith takes an active interest in supporting both the students and the classroom. Since she has joined the class, she has jumped in heart-first to help support student learning in any way she can. Congratulations to Smitha!!
