Due to Power Outage, Fallon Middle School Closed October 28

Dear DUSD Community,

As you are aware, Dublin is currently experiencing red flag wind conditions. As a result, PG&E has performed public safety power shutoffs in areas of our community. We have been monitoring the situation closely and the only campus currently affected with no power is Fallon Middle School.

Fallon Middle School, because of the PG&E Power Shutoff, is the only school that will not be in session tomorrow, October 28. All classes, after-school programs, and meetings are canceled.

The earliest PG&E anticipates a power regeneration at Fallon Middle School is 8:00am or 9:00am in the morning. We have decided to communicate our decision now to provide our staff and community with enough time to make required adjustments. To be clear, even if the power comes back on tomorrow, Fallon Middle School will remain closed. We will provide an update to all Fallon Middle School families by 6:00pm to determine if classes will resume on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

All other schools in the Dublin Unified School District have power and will be in session tomorrow. As a reminder, our Air Quality Index Guidelines are now in affect and we will continue to monitor our sensors to ensure we are keeping our staff and students safe. You can view more about our new guidelines here and view the air sensor information at http://bit.ly/DUSD-AIR.

Thank you for working with us to keep our students safe. We will continue to keep you informed as updates become available.

Sincerely

Dr. Dave Marken
Superintendent
Dublin Unified School District
