Class News 3-1-19

Happy Weekend! This week, the students started many new assignments, lessons, and projects, such as: Opinion writing (ask them about their OREO organization), Area and Perimeter, and Poetry!  Next week, we are starting our studies about: the pioneers, fossils, and different communities around the world.   The start of a new trimester always brings so much excitement!

Curriculum focus for next week:
Spelling Words: actors, bakers, owners, painters, players, sculptor, vendors, visitors
Vocabulary: explorer, Fahrenheit, wetlands, settlers, tourists, community
Math: Our Topic 14 (Area and Perimeter) test will be on Friday, March 8th.
Literature Study: Charlotte's Web by E.B. White
Grammar Focus: Reciprocal pronouns
Poetry for Reciting: "Abraham Lincoln" (See folders on Monday)
Science: Fossils
Social Studies: Pioneers
Spring Pictures are coming up!  Please see the flyer in your child's Friday Folder.
*If you have not returned the field trip permission slip for the Alviso Adobe trip, please do so when you can.  The sooner we get our drivers confirmed, the better for everyone.  Thank you!
* Information regarding the third grade fundraiser (Math-a-thon) was sent home this week.  Please see your child's folder for more information.  Thank you in advance for any support you can give our grade level.
