Dear C-3 families,

Happy Friday!  I wanted to extend another sincere thank you for all of the lovely holiday gifts and spoilings.  You all were so generous.  Thank you for treating me so kindly.  
I am sure the kids are exhausted after their first week back to school.  They sure were troopers - working hard while having fun.  Here's to a relaxing and enjoyable weekend for everyone!
 
Our curriculum topics for next week will be:
Reading - Advancements in Technology - informational reading
                    Because of Winn Dixie - novel study
 
Spelling - clerk, coworkers, mother, over, performed, simpler, smaller, various
 
Vocabulary - device, innovative, obtained, curious. experiment, phonograph
 
Grammar - irregular verbs (example: drive - drove)
 
Poetry - Each student will recite a minimum of two stanzas from the poem "Celebrating Me"
 
Math - Fractions (Fractions and Length, Fractions on a Number Line, Comparing Fractions)
 
Social Studies - The Ohlone People
 
Talent Show - If your child is interested, please see the PFC website and/or emails for information on the talent show tryout dates. 
 
We will have a new student teacher placed in our class.  Ms. Byers will start with us next week.  She will be shadowing me and eventually teaching a few lessons.  She will be in our class three days a week for the next few months.  
 
Reminder - Monday, 1/20 is a holiday (MLK Jr. Day)
