Back to School Information
4th Grade: E1
As we approach this school year in E1, I wanted to give you a brief overview of procedures and general back to school information. Please note, specific, in-depth information will be give at Back to School Night. In the first couple weeks of school we will be working extensively on creating a comfortable, safe learning environment for all students. We will be taking time to get to know one another and collectively setting the tone for our school year.
As a class, we will determine important qualities and expectations for a positive classroom; while considering the school-wide expectations as well. .
My classroom philosophy focuses on noticing and praising positive behaviors. I will be using Class Dojo as a behavior system this year. The behaviors on Class Dojo will be created and centered around our classroom and school-wide expectations.
In terms of homework, each night Reading and Math will be assigned. At the end of each day, students will write down their homework in their Minder Binders. If students are absent they have the same amount of days absent to make up the work. Students should be striving to take 1-2 AR quizzes per month; I understand the amount of quizzes may vary depending on length.
Again, more information regarding 4th grade, our classroom, and Common Core Curriculum to come at Back to School Night. I look forward to meeting you and please let me know if you have any questions!
